Why do I need travel medical insurance?

Do not assume your health insurance, home owner’s insurance or credit card policies will cover you when you study internationally – in many cases they DO NOT. RIG offers to protect you and your family.

What is covered?

Expenses incurred for medical treatment received by doctors, hospitals, clinics, campus medical facilities. (Always read “what is covered” in your plan booklet)

Who is eligible?

Students, scholars, visiting faculty engaged in full time educational activities. This includes undergraduate and graduate students.

What is the cost?

The cost is based on your geographical location, age, plan and student status, i.e.: single student, student and spouse or student, spouse and children. (Plan costs will also vary based on deductibles and co-pays selected.)

Can you explain pre-existing conditions and are they covered?

Medical expenses resulting for pre-existing conditions may not be eligible depending on the provisions of the plan. For a complete definition of pre-existing conditions, please click on exclusions under the program you have selected.
